Fat Lulu’s Cafe & Bar at Cross Point Mall looks expansive and open which is good. There seemed to be something amiss today since the word “bar” has been blackened out. Maybe some licensing issues are being ironed out. As one enters the restaurant one can’t resist looking at the ceiling. The ceiling has an industrial, rustic touch to it which is something I really like. The seating is comfortable to seat one’s posterior too. However, the tables at Fat Lulu Cafe seem to fall short when it comes to handling multiple food items. With two mains including a pizza there is hardly any space left to move stuff around. The “dark” theme of otherwise well laid out restaurant doesn’t work very well and neither does the artwork on the wall which if I may state – is obscene. It is definitely not child friendly.


Fat Lulu’s Cafe is garnering fame for its thin crust pizzas. I tend to agree. The quality of Fat Lulu’s Cafe pizzas is really outstanding. I was there just today and literally ate more than I could chew. My order comprised of The Soho thin crust pizza which comes loaded with cheese, parma ham, pepperoni, ground lamb and Italian sausage. The pizza sauce is lip smacking delicious too. To tag along with it we also ordered Fat Lulu’s mixed grill which comprised of pork sausage, minute steak, lamb chop and grilled chicken that came on a skewer. Previously, at Fat Lulu’s Cafe I have savoured their Spring Salad which is a combination of green apples, cherry tomatoes, olives and mixed greens. Dressed with balsamic, this is one refreshing salad. I would also recommend their cajun spiced sea bass and Jack Daniels chicken wings. A meal for two without alcohol costs around 1600 bucks inclusive of taxes which is not really easy on the pocket. But then the food is indeed very good.


The food appears snappily at Fat Lulu’s Cafe and the servers are quite attentive. Food and service do get high points. I hope someone does something about the lighting and decor.
