Free Covid-19 vaccine jabs for all adults: What you need to know
The centralised free vaccination policy began on Monday providing Covid-19 vaccines free of cost for all Indian citizens over the age of 18.
The health ministry in a briefing on Friday said states would be playing a facilitatory role by aggregating demand and vaccination capabilities of private hospitals, and will also be ensuring the administration of vaccines.
The Centre’s new policy came days after the Supreme Court slammed the ongoing vaccination drive, calling it “arbitrary and irrational.”

- Private sector hospitals will continue to procure 25% of vaccines directly from manufacturers, with service charge capped at Rs 150 per dose over fixed price
- All government and private vaccination centers will provide onsite registration facility, available both for individuals and groups as well
