Liquor vend owners held hostage, robbed of Rs 4 lakh

Gurgaon: Two brothers, owners of multiple liquor vends in Pataudi area, were allegedly attacked by 3-4 youths while they were heading to Ghoshgarh after collecting cash from multiple vends. Police said their SUV was hit head on by assailants’ vehicle initially. Then the youths came out of their vehicle with iron rods and attacked the liquor traders before kidnapping them and robbing them of Rs 4 lakh.
Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Bhoda Kala, and his brother Rajesh Kumar, own multiple liquor vends in Pataudi area in the name of “Rajesh Wines”. On June 26, Sanjay and Rajesh collected money from liquor vends in Baslambi and proceeded to Jamalpur in their white-coloured Scorpio. After collecting cash from Jamalpur and Sapka they headed towards Ghoshgarh.
Around 9.30pm, a white SUV hit their vehicle head on just before the Ghoshgarh.
“Due to the impact of the collision, our vehicle stopped and 3-4 youths stepped out of their vehicle armed with iron road. They smashed the window glass and hit Rajesh, who was on the driver seat,” said Sanjay. One of the accused took their Scorpio keys and started driving. The duo were taken hostage and drove around for around 2 hours. Later, they were pushed out of the car at a vacant plot with their hands and legs tied, police said.
The duo were spotted by some commuters who alerted the cops. On the basis of their complaint a case was registered under sections 392, 394 and 365 of the IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act at Pataudi police station on Sunday.
