KURUKSHETRA: The police have registered a case of murder and criminal conspiracy against eight people on Friday, allegedly for murdering a youth of Ambala.
Pinki Rani of Barara in Ambala district alleged that her son Harsh Kumar (17) was murdered.
On the complaint of Pinki Rani, the Kurukshetra police booked eight accused identified as Anmol, Ashu, Abhishek, Mukul alias Chintu, Aryan, Abhishek alias Gautam, Chinnu, Harsh Bajwa and others unknown.
All above-said eight accused were booked under Section 302 (punishment for murder) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Krishna Gate police station in Kurukshetra on Friday.
Pinki said her son Harsh told her on June 10 at about 3 pm, that he was going with Ashu to the birthday party of his friend Anmol and at 8pm, he informed her that he would not be coming home tonight and asked her not to wait for him.
“At about 12 in the night, my elder sister Neelam called to inform me that my son Harsh has received an injury and asked me to come to the civil hospital, Kurukshetra as he was to be taken to PGI, Chandigarh. At about 2 am, I reached the hospital with my family members and saw that my son was bleeding from nose and his clothes were torn. I tried to talk to him but he did not respond and he was dead,” said Pinki.
She said she came to know later that he was at Anmol’s birthday party at Defence Hotel in Kurukshetra.
Pinki said for legal proceedings of her son’s murder case, she along with 15 members of her side went to Krishna Gate police station on June 21, where accused people and owner of Defence Hotel was also present, and they claimed that Harsh died himself after falling from third floor of the hotel.
“We are not satisfied with these statements of accused people and hotel owner, as my son did not consume intoxicants and he was murdered under conspiracy”, alleged Pinki.
Kurukshetra police officials said that initially on June 10, they had conducted the proceedings under Section 174 (police to enquire and report suicide, etc.) of the CrPC and handed over the body of the deceased to the family members.
“No complaint was filed initially by the family but now a suspicion of murder under conspiracy has been raised in a written representation. We have registered a case under 302 and 120-B of the IPC and initiated the investigation”, said a police official concerned with investigation of this case.
