Haryana: MLA recommends suspension of four officials of Thanesar municipal council over negligence

KURUKSHETRA: Thanesar MLA Subhash Sudha has recommended suspension of four officials of Thanesar Municipal Council (MC) on Friday, following complaint of their negligence in issuing no-dues certificate (NDC) and causing disappearance of record files.
MLA Sudha recommended to Commissioner, Thanesar MC to suspend four erring officials of the civic body and he also asked the officials to immediately relieve an ITI intern working in house tax branch.
MLA also reprimanded some officials of the civic body for not clearing the public files related to house tax and NDC.
On Thursday, following public complaints, MLA conducted a surprise inspection at Thanesar MC and also heard public grievances on this occasion.
Kurukshetra resident Balram Sharma alleged that his file related to a map is stuck in process for about two and half months, and some residents alleged that they are harassed and made to visit the office repeatedly for NDCs. The residents also alleged that the house tax branch also caused the disappearance of public files.
The public complaints were verified on the spot through Thanesar MC executive officer (EO) and secretary and found to be true and negligence of four officials of the civic body was found.
Thanesar asked MC EO to lodge a complaint against four erring officials to the Commissioner and he also called the director general of local bodies department, Haryana over phone and narrated the entire incident.
Four member committee for issuing NDC
A four-member committee has been formed for issuing NDC to the public comprising Thanesar MC secretary Ajit Arora, executive engineer Surender Kumar, MC officer KL Bathla, and junior engineer Sandeep Kumar. The public has been urged to submit applications to this committee for the NDCs and these officials will ensure issuance of NDCs by calling concerned employees and officials at one table and complete the necessary formalities.
