35 injured after bus overturns in Palwal

GURUGRAM: More than 35 people were injured after a bus they were travelling in turned turtle near Mitrol village in Palwal on Saturday night.
Police said the bus was heading to Madhya Pradesh from Kapashera and over 100 passengers. When it reached Palwal around 10.30pm, the driver missed a turn and lost control near a petrol pump. Some passengers alleged that he had taken alcohol, which is yet to be confirmed by police. Others claimed that the bus was being driven at a high speed.
Many of those injured lost consciousness after the accident and were attended to by doctors on the spot. An eight-year-old boy with serious injuries was shifted to Government Medical College in Nalhar.
Police said the driver, who immediately fled the scene, was booked under relevant sections at Mundkati police station. “We are trying to locate him and scanning CCTV cameras,” Singh said.
