Improve property tax recovery, MCG officials told

Gurgaon: MCG commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja on Friday expressed his displeasure over the property tax collection in the current fiscal and the performance of the tax department officials.
In a meeting held with the zonal taxation department and enforcement branch officials on Friday, the commissioner directed the zonal taxation officers to improve their performance and recovery by September 15 or action will be taken against them as per the provision. The commissioner found that an application for property ID was submitted on August 12 and since then the file has been passing from one officer to another.
