Ensure offices for councillors in 10 days, says Gurugram mayor Madhu Azad

GURUGRAM: Mayor Madhu Azad has written to the MCG commissioner reiterating her demand for a separate office space for the councillors in the civic body’s Sector 34 office within 10 days.
Haryana’s urban local bodies minister Anil Vij, at a meeting held in February, gave directions to the commissioner that space should be allocated for the councillors in the MCG office.
“Despite the directions by the minister, the MCG has not been able to allocate a separate office space for the councillors. I have requested the commissioner to act on the minister’s directions within 10 days,” Azad said.
The councillors have long been demanding an office space in the MCG office and have raised the demand at House meetings in the past.
The Vyapar Sadan new building plan includes a councillors’ lounge.
“An office space recently vacated by an executive engineer, has been occupied by the contractors. Even the contractors now have an office space in the MCG building,” Ravinder Yadav, ward number 3 councillor, said.
These councillors hope to get office space at the Vyapar Sadan building.
