Migrant worker murder: Complaint filed at human rights commission

Gurgaon: The National Confederation of Human Rights Organisations (NCHRO) has taken cognisance of the Gurgaon badminton academy murder, in which a 21-year-old migrant worker was allegedly beaten to death after being mistakenly identified by a minor girl as her molester’s accomplice.
NCHRO has now filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to ensure a fair trial in the case. The complaint has been filed by Adil Sharfuddin, a lawyer who is also a member of the Delhi state committee. The complaint details the series of events that led to the death of Anuj Kumar, the migrant worker. A complaint filed by the girl’s father on Monday has contested the mistaken identity theory of the police. In his complaint, Sharfuddin has alleged that it was a caste-based murder. Anuj was a Dalit.
