Haryana wants board exams for classes 5 & 8 in all schools

GURUGRAM: The Haryana government has decided to introduce board exams for students of classes V and VIII not only in its own schools but also private ones, irrespective of the board to which they are affiliated, from the 2022-23 academic session.
In a gazette notification dated January 18, the government cited the Haryana Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Rules, 2022, to “conduct a regular exams in the fifth class and in the eighth class or to authorise any other agency having expertise in conducting such exams, at the end of every academic year, in government and in recognised private schools in the state”.
The notification also said the exam certificates would be issued by “the academic authority or the agency authorised for conducting such examination” within a month.
