Matka Murgh Dahiwala - Delectable All the Way

Image
Matka Murgh Dahiwala Recipe, Claypot Chicken in Curd Gravy Recipe Matka Murgh Dahiwala or Claypot Chicken in Curd Gravy is yet another example of my tryst with “Matka” or “Claypot” cooking . Matka murgh dahiwala is a fragrant and delectable chicken curry dish that uses dahi or yogurt as a souring agent. The base gravy comprises of whole & powdered spices and sauteed onions. However, the real magic to matka murgh dahiwala or claypot chicken in curd gravy is imparted by the slow cooking in this evergreen earthen matka or claypot. Matka or Clay pots have been used for cooking through the Indian subcontinent for times immemorial. Earthen tandoors are used even today. Though matkas for cooking did take a backseat with the newer gizmos taking over. The trend seems to be reversing now. Matka or clay pot can be used for storing water, heating milk and cooking of course. Matka murgh dahiwala is relatively simple to make with most ingredients easily available at home. You may have to go out

Chandni Chowk Photowalk - A Captivating Orchestra

Image
Chandni Chowk photowalk is always intriguing. The melange of people on the streets of Chandni Chowk evokes mixed feelings. It is painfully mesmerising. On this particular Chandni Chowk photowalk, I focused primarily on people who went about their daily chores unaffected as I clicked them. I guess since photographers have descended in droves on Chandni Chowk for times immemorial, the humble inhabitants have developed an immunity to them. Chandni Chowk offers great opportunities for street photography. You can plan for people, food, religion as well as history as a subject. Despite of being most crowded and chaotic area of Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk photowalk is quite enamouring. It is a captivating orchestra of sight, smell, and sound presented here in black and white. Dahi Wale Chatpate Aloo

Image
Dahi wale chatpate aloo or potatoes in tangy curd based gravy are my all time favorite. They can be had for a major meal or even snacked upon. The recipe is fairly simple to make and is quite nutritious. During the season of navratri they make an ideal food for fasting Indians. Potatoes are in the blood of Indians. They are a singular “foreign invasion” that has successfully ruled India since early 17th century when potatoes or ‘ batata ‘ were introduced in India by the Portuguese. Coming back to the recipe. Lets go on to make dahi wale chatpate aloo or potatoes in tangy curd based gravy. Preparation Time: 5 minutes Cooking time: 15 minutes Cooking Gizmos: Flat heavy bottomed pan Servings: 4 Stuff you need for dahi wale chatpate aloo or potatoes in tangy curd based gravy recipe what goes in? what kinds? how much?
