4 hold staffers at gunpoint, take Rs 40k from liquor shop

Gurgaon: Four armed men allegedly robbed a liquor shop of Rs 40,000 in cash at gunpoint on Monday in Shivaji Nagar, just 200 metres away from the police commissioner’s office.
CCTV footage from the English wine shop shows a man entering the store and asking for a beer late on Monday night. As soon as one of the two salesmen present moves to get the beer, the man is seen going to the back of the counter and opening the money drawer. As the salesmen object, three armed men are seen barging into the shop.
They fired as many as seven shots in the air but no one was injured, police said. The robbers then fled.
Om Prakash and Yunus, the salesmen, informed police about the crime. They claimed they were threatened by the armed men at gunpoint, while the fourth man took out all the cash kept in the drawer and put it in his pocket.
“When one of us tried to stop him, his accomplices fired bullets towards the wall to threaten us. They fled with Rs 40,000 kept in the drawer,” one of the salesmen told police.
According to police, the men also opened fire while leaving the premises. They allegedly fled in a white-coloured car. An FIR has been registered at Shivaji police station under Section 379 (punishment for theft) of the IPC and sections 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act.
“We have checked the CCTV footage and hope to nab the accused men soon,” a police officer said.
