Haryana: Man sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment for sexually assaulting minor daughters

KURUKSHETRA: The court of district and sessions judge Manish Dua convicted a man on Thursday and sentenced him to rigorous life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 62,000 for sexually assaulting his two minor daughters in Kurukshetra.
District deputy attorney (DDA) Bhupender Kumar said that on August 5, 2020, a woman had lodged a complaint at Thanesar Sadar police station and told the police that she has five children, including three daughters.
“The woman complained to the police that her daughter (17) disclosed about the sexual assault by her father. Her husband was sexually assaulting the her for the last one year and had threatened to kill her if she disclosed her ordeal to anybody. After the elder daughter opposed, her husband started assaulting the younger daughter aged10,” said DDA Bhupender.
Bhupender said that the woman alleged that on August 4, she and her husband were sleeping outside in their house and their children were sleeping in the room.
“The woman’s husband went inside the room and started sexually assaulting the younger daughter. The girl shouted and her mother woke up,” said DDA Bhupender.
On the complaint of the girls’ mother, a case was registered against the accused on August 5, 2020.
The Kurukshetra police said that the investigation of the case was handed over to woman sub-inspector.
