750 doses left, no Covishield shots today

Gurgaon: Due to lack of Covishield doses, the health department has decided not to administer Covishield vaccine shots to the recipients on Friday. However, seven session sites will be set up on Friday where second dose of Covaxin and first dose of Sputnik V will be administered. Of the seven sites, Covaxin shots will be given at six sites and Sputnik V at one site, officials said.
At present, there are 8,000 doses of Covaxin and 750 doses of Covishield in the city.
Meanwhile, a total of 4,803 recipients in the 18-44 age group got inoculated on Thursday. In the 45-plus category, 3,276 people took the shots. As many as 6,437 healthcare staff and 3,118 frontline workers also received the jabs.
A total of 4,417 first doses were administered on Thursday and 13,217 second doses were given to recipients in the city, officials said.
4 new cases in city
The city witnessed four fresh cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, taking the caseload to 1,80,826, of which 77 are active. The positivity rate stands as 0.1%. On Thursday, no Covid deaths were reported. The fatality rate stands at 0.4%.
Five people also recovered on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,79,830.
