Shah Rukh Khan made a rare appearance on Sunday, as he attended Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral at Shivaji Park ground in Mumbai. The actor arrived much in advance and patiently waited to pay his last respects to the singing legend. Being extremely religious, Shah Rukh Khan offered a dua for Lata Mangeshkar. For a split second he removed his mask and did a facial gesture, which several ill-informed netizens deemed as ‘spitting’. The truth is that after saying a dua, Shah Rukh Khan blew air, which several Muslims follow as a pious practice.

Paying his last respects, SRK placed a wreath and said a prayer, he also touched didi’s feet and circumambulated Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains. The actor was accompanied by his manager Pooja Dadlani. Apart from SRK, Aamir Khan also paid his last respects to Lata Mangeshkar with his daughter Ira Khan.

Lata Mangeshkar passed away after nearly a month of hospitalization. She was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in January this year, after she was diagnosed with Covid-19 and pneumonia. The 92 year old singer passed away on February 6 due to multi-organ failure. Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar was cremated with full state honours. The Government of India also announced two days of State mourning as a mark of respect to the legend.
