Bedi’s son is a candidate contesting election at this ward in Shahabad. Allegations of bogus vote were leveled but later after intervention of administration, the papers of the woman voter were found correct and the issue was resolved.

A total of seven candidates are in the field of Sadhaura MC Chairman, of which, three are independent while four are from different parties. A total of 42 candidates are in the field for 13 seats of Sadhaura MC members.
A Sadhaura voter Parkash Kaur said, “We will have to pay different taxes after coming under municipal council but it is also good that the sanitation condition of colonies and roads will improve.”
