HowIMadeIt! Dibyendu Bhattacharya: Furniture actors don’t bother me

He started off with a celebrated filmmaker Mira Nair’s ‘Monsoon Wedding’ to only find himself in a corner which was devoid of commercial movies and TV shows. But Dibyendu Bhattacharya hung on and gamely continued to do what he enjoyed best- acting. “I wouldn’t have completed my studies if graduation was not required to join NSD,” our guest this week on #HowIMadeIt says bluntly.
Dibyendu’s blunt views extend to the fact that the OTT space has become an area of herd mentality, where cuss words and intimate scenes are pushed under the garb of realism. You must see the video conversation below:

We argue with Dibyendu in this interesting conversation that parental guidance is not the answer if censorship is done away with. He again bluntly says, “Yes, my 16-year old had a smartphone when he was 13.”

Dibyendu has immense confidence and he is now running a fast race with ‘Undekhi 2’, ‘Jamtara 2’ (for which he’s currently shooting in Wai where he’s talking to ETimes from), MX Player’s ‘Bindiya’ amongst others. “I can do anything in front of the camera. Lakeer ke fakir and furniture actors don’t bother me.”
