2 more die of mucor in Karnal, 7 infected

Karnal: There were two more deaths due to mucormycosis in Karnal on Wednesday, taking deaths caused by the fungal infection, which has emerged as the latest challenge in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, to eight in the disrict.
Seven persons were also diagnosed with the condition during the day in the district, with which the number of infected persons reached 35.
Dr Jagdish Dureja, director of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital (KCGMCH), said the deceased included a 67-year-old man of Safdion in Jind district and a 68-year-old man from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh.
He said the deceased also had Covid and had been admitted to the Covid ward of KCGMCH.
