Gurugram sees 193 new Covid cases, positivity rate 4.6%

GURUGRAM: The city recorded 193 new cases of Covid on Wednesday. It has been reporting less than 200 cases for four days in a row. The test positivity rate, meanwhile, rose to 4.6% on Wednesday from 3.6% on the previous day.
Gurugram currently has 680 active cases, of which 31 are hospitalised. As the cases have declined, the number of patients in hospitals has also dropped. “There is still a concern about people who have comorbidities as they might face complications in the second week of infection. So, we are keeping a close watch on those who are recovering at home,” said chief medical officer Dr Virender Yadav.
The health department conducted 4,173 tests on Wednesday, while 4,229 samples were tested on Tuesday. The city is conducting RT-PCR and Antigen in a 70:30 ratio, according to the department.
The city logged a total of 8,046 cases in June, compared to 7,619 in May and 5,894 in April. Meanwhile, Haryana witnessed 415 new cases on Wednesday. The state now has 1,932 active cases while the positivity rate is 2.7%.
