‘Fake’ Holi video of MP: FIR filed

Gurgaon: A purported video of Union minister and Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh hosting a Holi party featuring “obscene acts” has gone viral, prompting the Gurgaon police to register a case.
The FIR was filed at the Cyber police station at the Cyber police station under IPC sections 419 (cheating by personation), 500 (defamation), 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory), 354D (stalking) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) and under the IT Act.
This was after Rao Inderjit’s personal secretary Baljeet Singh filed a complaint on Tuesday, claiming the “fake video” on Twitter was intended at denting the image of the politician as “no such Holi party was hosted by the Gurgaon MP”. The Cyber police have written to Twitter seeking details of the post. “We have written to Twitter, seeking details of the account. We are trying to identify the person behind the video,” a police officer said.
