Man held for conducting recce in Ambala double murder case

AMBALA: The crime investigation agency (CIA)-II of Ambala police made the fifth arrest in connection with Mohit Rana and Vishal alias Bhola double murder case of Mahesh Nagar, said the police on Saturday.
The arrested accused has been identified as Abhishek of Rachheri village in Ambala district, who had conducted recce of Mohit Rana and Vishal and tipped the conspirators about their movement.
Ambala superintendent of police (SP) Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said that the accused Abhishek was produced in the Ambala district court on Saturday, which granted his two-day police remand.
CIA-II in-charge inspector Varinder said, “Before Mohit Rana and Vishal were murdered, accused Abhishek had been conducting Mohit’s recce in his vehicle for the one week. He also conducted recce on the day of the murder and tipped the conspirators and shooters about Mohit’s movement. We have taken him on two-day police remand for further investigation.”
On March 14, CIA-II had arrested two shooters Amit alias Mita of Batana village in Sonepat district and Aakash alias Gitti of Rohini, Delhi, after taking them on production warrant from Delhi, who had shot dead Mohit and Vishal. Both Amit and Aakash were taken on three-day police remand by CIA-II on the same day.
Inspector Varinder said, “Abhishek has been arrested on the basis of revelation made by shooters Amit and Aakash during their remand. The weapons used by these shooters for committing a double murder in Ambala were earlier recovered from their possession by the Delhi police and we will make them the case property.”
So far, five arrests have been made in this case including gangster Monu Rana alias Shamsher Singh of Thamber village in Ambala district on January 24 and a member of Kala Rana gang, Sugam of Model Colony, Yamunanagar on February 1.
