Rishi’s family’s reaction to Sharmaji Namkeen

Rishi Kapoor’s final act is up for release on an OTT platform. The veteran actor had partly shot for ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ and after his demise, Paresh Rawal stepped in to wrap the project. The Kapoor family recently united for a special screening of the movie and director Hitesh Bhatia revealed that it was an emotional moment for the family.
The special screening of ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ was attended by Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor, and Aadar Jain among others. Speaking to a news portal, the filmmaker said that he was worried about the family’s reaction to the movie featuring Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal, however they all loved it. Hitesh Bhatia stated that Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor particularly liked the film and turned emotional on seeing Rishi Kapoor on the big screen for the last time.

Speaking about calling the shots for ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ with Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, Hitesh Bhatia had told ETimes, “We always kept Juhi ji and Rishi ji in mind while writing. It was a dream come true. Because if one of them had said no, we really wouldn’t have figured out how to go ahead with that. Because from day one, it was very clear that only both of them could really do justice to this. So it all fell in place. And she just loved the script so much, and then of course, the kind of equation they both share, so on set it was just like a big joy ride because they’re pulling each other’s legs, something is happening.”
