BJP MP Arvind Sharma alleges corruption in Haryana government: ‘CM Manohar Lal Khattar does not have a mind of own’

ROHTAK: Twelve days after Rohtak BJP MP Arvind Sharma alleged a Rs 350-crore scam in the Amrut scheme in Haryana, the four-time parliamentarian on Sunday took a jibe at chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, saying that he did not have a mind of his own.
Sharma’s open criticism of Khattar came during a rally at Pehrawar village in Rohtak, where a rally had been organised to demand the release of land from government’s possession which was donated by locals to Gaur Brahmin educational institutes.
Narnaund JJP MLA Ram Kumar Gautam, Badli MLA Naresh Vats, and ex-AAP state chief Naveen Jaihind were present at the event where Sharma was speaking. Members of the Brahmin community have been miffed with the BJP government in Haryana after it declared to take back land donated to Gaur Brahmin educational institutes, as the latter had failed to fulfil lease conditions.
Sharma, who beat Congress’s Deepender Singh Hooda in the parliamentary elections in 2019, said he had almost convinced Khattar to order the release of the said land to the educational institutes, but BJP ex-minister and former Rohtak MLA Manish Grover had advised the CM against it.
“I stood by Grover through the thick and thin. I even issued controversial statements in his favour, but he created hindrances in demands raised by me for the welfare of Brahmin community,” Sharma added.
Taking a dig at Khattar, Sharma said though CM is an honest man, he did not have a mind of his own and got influenced by leaders like Grover.
Grover is considered close to Khattar as they share a bond even before Khattar became CM.
Sharma went on to claim that ther was evidence against the culprits in the Amrut scheme scam and they could be brought to book, but Grover would not let it happen.
Issuing a month’s deadline to the Khattar govermment, the Rohtak MP said if the state government did not hand over documents of Pehrawar village, he would sit on a protest. Levelling corruption allegations against his own government, Sharma asked the audience to raise their hands in support if they felt corruption was rampant in the state.
