129 fined, 23 held for traffic violations

Gurgaon: As many as 23 people were arrested during the night domination exercise carried out by Gurgaon police on Saturday from 10pm to 4am in an attempt to control crime.
A country-made pistol was found in the possession of one man. He has been arrested on charges of possessing illegal weapons, violations of vehicle and traffic rules and drunk driving. “Only one person was arrested under Arms Act for possession of a country-made pistol. The weapon was seized,” said a police officer.
During the exercise, a total of 4, 069 vehicles were checked, out of which 129 were challaned, 15 were impounded and 10 riders were booked. In addition, a check was conducted at 343 public places and 413 suspected people were also inspected and stranger rolls were issued. According to the cops, 305 bottles of illegal liquor were recovered during the search.
