New infections fall to 8, active cases just above 200

Gurgaon: The city on Monday recorded eight fresh cases taking the total caseload to 1,80,593. According to the health department the positivity rate stands as 0.2% and the active cases amount to 201. On Monday, as many as two deaths were reported, taking the toll to 886. The fatality rate stands at 0.3%.
The city on Monday also saw the recovery of 23 people, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,79,506. The recovery rate stands at 99.7% at present.
Meanwhile, 76 people were sent to institutional quarantine facilities on Monday. So far, 16,19,949 people have been put under surveillance in the city. In the past 24 hours, the health authorities collected 3,195 samples for antigen and RT-PCR tests. Till now, 16,07,363 samples have been sent for testing, of which 14,23,575 returned negative while the results of 1,707 are awaited. As the cases have declined, the patients in hospitals have also dropped. At present there are 13 (severe cases) in hospitals.
