Haryana: Three held for theft in Kurukshetra; Rs 10 lakh cash, jewellery recovered

KURUKSHETRA: The crime investigation agency (CIA)-I of Haryana Police arrested three persons and recovered Rs 10 lakh cash, gold and silver jewelry and other items stolen from a house in Shahabad town in Kurukshetra district.
Superintendent of police (SP) Anshu Singla said that the arrested accused were identified as Amit alias Goldy of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, Neeraj alias Monu from Kurukshetra and Avtar alias Kala ferom Thanesar Sadar.
The SP said that the CIA-I team had arrested accused Amit on Thursday, who was produced in the district court the same day, which sent him to three-day police remand.
“During interrogation, Amit revealed names of Neeraj and Avtar as his accomplices, and they were arrested on Friday. Neeraj and Avtar were produced in the district court on Friday, which granted their three-day police remand,” said the SP.
She added that the recovery of cash, jewelry was made from Amit, which is worth Rs 15 lakh.
“More recoveries would be made from them during their remand. So far, Rs 10 lakh cash, which is part of Rs 24 lakh cash stolen from the house in Shahabad, 60g gold, and 200g silver jewelry, three LED TVs have been recovered from Amit,” said SP Anshu.
She said that these three accused were involved in nine more cases of theft.
