Kriti on pay disparity in Bollywood

Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon’s highly anticipated Bachchhan Paandey was expected to be a box office success due to it’s commercial and cinematic value. However, the film failed to create a mark, especially due to the strong competition of The Kashmir Files.
Speaking of big-budget films in Bollywood, it’s an undeniable fact that pay disparity between male and female actors prevails in the industry, and having said that Kriti once unknowingly revealed the same.

Back in March, during the Delhi promotions of the film, the lead pair were asked what was their most rewarding moment from the film that was close to their hearts? That’s when Akshay Kumar jokingly passed on a remark, “The most rewarding moment was when at the end of the day, she got her cheque and I got mine,” To which Kriti unwittingly quipped, “Your cheque was way bigger,” before breaking into laughter.
Earlier too, Kriti has been vocal about the pay disparity in Bollywood. In an interview with ETimes, the actress shared, “when a male and a female actor have a similar kind of role, I feel men don’t have to prove by having the film solely on them, to grow and to increase their price and somewhere females, sometimes have to prove it more by such kind of films, which is what I felt is a very weird difference. But I think we’re slowly growing and things are changing. The patriarchal mindset is so normal that it will take a little time to change and to grow”. Credit Source – https://ift.tt/6MABReJ
