Woman found dead at home in Gurugram, cops seach for brother-in-law

GURUGRAM: A 28-year-old woman was found dead in her room on Saturday in Khoh village of Manesar. The woman was allegedly strangled to death by her elder sister’s husband when the former’s husband was off to work at a garment factory. The reason behind murder is not known yet.
Mohammad Qadir, according to police, lived with his three children and wife Shabnam Khatoon in a rented room in the village for the last one year. Qadir returned home from work on Sunday and found his wife dead.
Qadir’s brother-in-law Mohammad Shahid had come to Gurugram last week from Nuh in search of a job and he was staying with Qadir. “Shahid was staying with us for the past five days and when I had left for work he was at my house,” said Qadir, adding that Shahid strangulated her wife to death after an argument.
“My children were sleeping while she was lying on the bed. Her face was covered with a blanket and there were injuries marks on her neck,” said Qadir. Qadir was told by his eldest son about the argument between his wife and Shahid before dinner on that night. He suspects Shahid killed his wife. “The deceased had injuries marks on her neck and face,” ACP (crime) Preet Pal Sangwan said, adding that they are trying to track the suspect. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at IMT Manesar police station under section 302 (murder) of IPC.
